The residential aged care journey, step 2 of 6

A room, the fees and the agreement, signed online

The room is offered from the home's published prices, the means-tested care fee arrives from Services Australia, and the family signs the Residential Aged Care Agreement from one emailed link.

A resident's daughter signs the home's agreements on a phone in HealthOS Connections, as the holder of an enduring power of attorney, with each signed addendum listed.
Who takes part

The people at this step

The admissions officer

Offers the room, prepares the agreement and lodges the entry with ACWS once the resident moves in.

The family

Reads and signs the agreement and addenda on a phone, as the resident's representative where they hold the authority to.

The finance team

Sees the RAD or DAP the family chose and the means-tested care fee, ready for the first statement.

What happens

Step by step

  1. The room offer

The RAD and DAP come from the home's own published room prices, so the offer and the published price never disagree.

  2. The means-tested care fee

It arrives from the Care Recipient Fee Summary and is filled into the agreement, with its source shown.

  3. Signed from home

The family signs the Residential Aged Care Agreement and any addenda in HealthOS Connections, from one emailed link with no password to set up.

  4. Entry lodged

The entry event is lodged with ACWS, with the deposit attached, and the resident is admitted to their room.

What the next step gets

The care team receives a resident whose room, fees and agreement are settled and recorded.
